At Fund a Life, we’re committed to shining a light in the darkest of moments, helping individuals and families facing overwhelming obstacles of all kinds. Through the generosity of our individual donors, local sponsors, and Mission Partners, we have been able to provide more than $700,000 in grants to people in our community as they face unimaginable circumstances.
Although we do our best to say YES to as many grant requests each year as possible, the truth is that far too many requests are unfunded due to a lack of resources.
That’s where Fund My Life comes in.
If your financial need is too urgent to wait for a response from our quarterly grant review committee, you can kickstart your monetary support today with our Fund My Life self-fundraising program. And just like a traditional Fund a Life grant, campaigns can be used in support of any major, life-altering circumstance.
Similar to GoFundMe, this platform empowers you to tell your story and raise funds on your time, to support your urgent financial needs - but with the power of the Fund a Life name, brand, and community behind you. We’ll help you to connect with our network of compassionate donors to support you in your time of need.
When you fundraise through Fund My Life, you’ll receive the following benefits:
Up to a 12-week campaign
A custom campaign page on Classy built by our team, based on your application details
Direct support and guidance from our team
A custom graphic designed for and uploaded to your Fund My Life campaign page (you must provide photo(s))
At least 1 feature in our monthly newsletter during the duration of your campaign
At least 1 social post on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram highlighting your story and ask during the duration of your campaign
Best of all? As Fund a Life is a registered 501(c) nonprofit, your donors get the benefit of tax-deductible donations
You do not have to meet your goal amount in order to keep the funds raised at the end of your campaign.
When your campaign is over, you keep the funds, regardless of whether or not you reached your goal.
Getting Started
Similar to a traditional Fund a Life grant, our grant applications team determines eligibility for the use of our Fund My Life platform. All individuals or families must complete our standard grant application form.
When you select the Fund My Life option at the top of the form, we will review your application within 48 hours of receipt (not including weekends) and get back to you with our approval, or any additional questions/information needed.
Once approved, we’ll share the link to your customizable Classy donation page, and you’ll be ready to raise the necessary funds to meet your needs!
How to Apply
Complete the Fund a Life application here, and be sure to mark “Fund My Life” at the top of your application so that it gets moved into our urgent review for approval.
Be sure to include a detailed description of your story and the circumstances that led you to apply, along with at least one photo (up to five photos).
Your story and photo(s) will be used by our team to put together your Classy fundraising page so that it’s ready to launch immediately upon approval.
Additional Requirements
Fund My Life recipient must be a permanent resident inside the U.S.
Individual applicants need to be at 18 years of age, unless otherwise co-signed with an adult who has verified all the information is accurate as represented by said minor.
Applicants need to be both willing and able to provide appropriate proof of the need requested in the grant application (*Please note, any/all medical documentation will only be used by Fund a Life to verify any grant applicant's case. Under no circumstance will this information be shared with anyone outside the Fund a Life grant approval team)
